About Us

No Screens for Queens is a movement fighting for the hearts and minds of women and girls. It’s a reminder that you don’t need a smartphone in your hand to live a full, beautiful life. It speaks to mums, teens, and every woman who feels the constant pull of the digital world, the pressure to compare, to perform, to look perfect, to stay endlessly connected.

This advocacy group encourages choosing a life of intentional disconnect, not to step back from the world, but to finally step into it. To trade anxiety for calm. Fear for confidence. Doom scrolling for real conversations. Filters for real body love. And digital pressure for genuine inner peace.

It’s about protecting the emotional wellbeing of girls in their most vulnerable years, and giving women of all ages the power to reclaim their minds, their time, their joy, and their sense of self.

Screens are stealing our kids childhoods

Protect them by ditching smart phones completely.

Why you should choose a smart phone free life

We all know smart phones are dangerous for our mental health.

Try a month without a smart phone, and you might realise that you don’t actually need one at all.

The benefits far outweigh the convenience of being hyper connected.

Present in the small moments

Ever feel like someone was talking to you (a significant other, or family member), but you didn’t hear a word? Either so distracted by your own thoughts, or drowning in your phone? Going smart phone free eleviates this significantly.

You notice the small things

Subtle cues, bids for attention. These both are so important to keeping your relationships healthy, with your partner, friends, and children. Being responsive when someone is talking to you, or showing you something is so important.

Connections are deeper

When you give more, you get more. Have you ever felt like roommates with your family? You walk past each other without noticing each other? Sat on the couch at night but totally disconnected in alternative worlds? A smart phone free lifestyle brings you back together. Hugs are tighter, connection is more pure.

Days are longer

When you’re constantly entertained and distracted, the hours fly by. Just spent 2 hours on TikTok and thought – wow, that was quick? Turns out when you’re smart phone free, time slows down dramatically.

You’re in control of what you see

Social media is notorious for pushing fear based content into your feed because fear grabs attention, keeps you scrolling, and ultimately makes you easier to sell to. The platforms aren’t optimised for “connection”, they’re optimised for profit.

Fear → attention → scrolling → ads → purchases.

Anxiety? What’s that?

Anxiety melts away. No more doom scrolling, no more feeling inadequate to what you’re seeing others do online. No more fearful media pushing things onto you. The “pull” to your smart phone disappears, and so does the guilt of being on your phone.

Ditching the smart phone to reclaim your family’s well being

The obvious benefits:

Stronger Relationships

When we finally put our phones down, yeah, we get bored. But that boredom pushes us back into real life. Instead of scrolling, we start talking. Instead of zoning out, we show up. Suddenly we’re laughing with our family, hanging out, actually connecting.

Less Anxiety, Less Fear

The truth is pretty simple: the stats don’t lie, endless scrolling is wrecking us. It ramps up anxiety, feeds depression, destroys our sleep, and rewires our brains in all the wrong ways. And the worst part? We’re constantly being fed fear and negativity, because that’s what keeps us hooked.

Feeling Good, More Self Worth

When we’re not constantly swimming in edited bodies, perfect holidays, and fake “I’ve-got-it-all-together” moments, the pressure finally lifts. We stop feeling like we’re falling behind. We stop judging ourselves against impossible standards. We feel human again.

Frequently Asked Questions

Why should we go smart phone free?

Simply to reduce distraction, lower anxiety, and reconnect with real life.

Not because technology is evil, but because we weren’t built for constant stimulation, and smartphones quietly rewire us in ways we aren’t built for.

How do we go smart phone free?

Going smartphone-free doesn’t mean going device-free, it means choosing technology on your terms. You choose a phone with minimal features (text & call only), and have an additional device (laptop or computer; tablet if it’s your only choice because a tablet is just a larger phone) you can access to do your tasks on the internet.

Is it hard to ditch a smartphone?

It can feel strange at first, but most people adjust within a couple of weeks.

Will my social life suffer?

No, you’ll likely have deeper, more intentional interactions. It will also encourage people around you to interact with you more and put their phones down too.

Do I need to quit cold turkey?

Not at all. You can transition gradually to make it easier.
